Many thanks go to the Johnsons and the Gaglianos for setting up our Christmas party.  The Barn Restaurant was a very good choice.  We all enjoyed the great food and we managed to explore the interesting shops after dinner.  The only bad feature was that they do not have a private party room.  It was rather difficult to hold a meeting but we still managed to have one and also hold our annual drawing for all of the Christmas gifts.  I do think the rest of the diners were enjoying all of our conversation.  It was a lot of fun.

The members that were present: Glen & Nancy Johnson, Joe & Mary Gagliano, Dick & Jan Given, Bob & Judy Boey, Bob & Pam Nelius, Ernie & Marge Klingenberg, Richard & Shirley Brye, Richard Daly & his daughter, Gerald Sutherland, Steve & Cathy Robertson, Ernie & Chris Tench, Al & Bev Bednarski, Margaret Lance & Ted Glowicki, and Lou & Rose Kerekes. Please forgive me if I missed anyone.

Since our club covers the whole state of Ohio, we try to move our activities so as to accommodate members that cannot make the meetings.  If you have any interesting activities in your area, please send me the information.  I will then try to organize a meeting in that part of the state.  This way we can move around to make it easier for all members to attend.

For many years, the Buckeye Mets have worked at the Cleveland Auto Show.  We have always sold tickets for a drawing for the classic car that is raffled off annually.  This year, since there is a controversy regarding the Museum selling some of the donated cars, we might have a problem.  I have tried to get some information regarding this issue.  I will let you know A.S.A.P. if we should or will volunteer for this event.

Our next meeting will be at 1:00 pm on Feb 28, 2010.  It will be held at Cafè 17 located at 5755 Granger Rd., Independence, OH 44131.  The cafè is located in the basement of the building.  A great lunch will be served at no charge to the members that attend this meeting.  Please call or send an R.S.V.P.

Now last, but not least, let us welcome three new members to the Buckeye Mets club: James & Beatrice Zarifis of Sullivan, Ohio and Robert Smarsch of Cleveland Hts., Ohio.  I do hope that we will be able to meet them at our next meeting in Independence.

On a sad note we did lose Dave & Pat Metcalf after many years of being members of the Buckeye Mets.  They have sold their Met.  Good Luck to both of you...we will miss you.
