August 2007 Newsletter |
The international was a great reunion with our Met family. All of the members from around the world got to renew old friendships and make new ones.
Due to our prior family commitments, Lou and I could not be at the meet until Friday. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Pam & Bob Nelius who were there since Wednesday. I knew that Steve and Cathy Robertson were in Rockford; but after hunting for them for two days, I fanally came to the realization that they left on Friday (actually Saturday morning) since they were celebrating a special anniversary with their family.
There were many, many beautiful Mets. Again like all the other meets, the Buckeye mets International shirts were everywhere! The hotel was great, too. They had an indoor water park and there were many lovely shops within the hotel.
The real treat besides seeing all the beautiful Mets is greeting the members that have traveled from all around the world. Rafael and Laura came from Puerto Rico, our friends from the netherlands came as well as many others from various places.
The food was excellent and the games were fun even though I did not win any prizes in the raffles that were held.☹
Our many thaks go out to Rhonda for the wonderful job she did with the pictures and slides. Thanks Rhonda from all of us! We do appreciate your hard work and effort. Also our thanks go out to all of the hosts and hostesses. We had a great time! Now we have to look forward to the next event.
The new officers were introduced. Our many thanks go out to the outgoing officers for all their time and hard work which contributed to the betterment of our organization. Good Job!
Last, but not least, I am very happy to inform the Buckeye Mets that because of the great job that jennifer is doing on our newsletter, we won a plaque for having the best mid-size newsletter in the country. They could not even put jen's name on the plaque because she does not put her name as editor on our paper.
Our many thanks go to Jennifer.
We need to have a picnic in September. I am open to any suggestions. I did receive one but I will expect more. Please send some in.
I need some updates on people I haven't heard from in a while. How are the Narsavages doing? Are they moved yet? What is Don Beltz doing? Lou Sala, what are you up to? (Motorcycle Lou) Where are the Gaglizno's today? LET US KNOW!!
Rose
